Termite Control, Services, Treatment and Inspections

Termite Control, Services, Treatment and Inspections

Ever wonder just how many termites may be living in your yard? Chances are it's thousands if not hundreds of thousands. Oklahoma enjoys a huge population of termites that help with the natural recycle process. They are a necessary pest and actually provide a huge service for the planet.  See termites are like mother natures little cleanup pests. They eat up dead wood, any wood that they can get a bite on. Leave a 2" x 4" board that's untreated in your back yard for long enough and it's likely to get eaten by termites. The same goes for homes that are unprotected from these pests.

In Oklahoma, the Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Jenks, Bixby area or metro Tulsa area, we are considered a high risk area for termite infestations. Our humid summers and short winters provide a perfect habitat for termites to thrive.

When purchasing a home lenders want to protect themselves and typically require a termite inspection to reduce the amount of risk involved with the lending on the property. When a home is built a Pre-Treatment is usually done but even with a Pre-Treatment many builders use more budget friendly products that may not last or be effective against termites 6-8 years down the road. So, why is having an inspection so important? Well, you wouldn't knowingly buy a home with termites without having the seller provide a termite treatment would you? It's done to protect you and give you piece of mind.

Sure, not every home infested with termites will be found to have termites in an inspection. Sometimes termites are not detectible until they have done some damage or left evidence of termites infesting the home. A new infestation may be hidden and not to the point of visual evidence. A termite inspection is based off a visual inspection so it's possible for termites to be present but unless they are showing the inspector the evidence they can be not found. Other possibilities are that the seller may know they have termites and may have done some repairs to hide the damage or evidence of a termite infestation.

How can you protect yourself when the evidence is not clear? Well, you can have a treatment done. If the home is older but has no termite company currently providing a warranty then you may want to consider treatment. Termite Control is not as expensive as many think. If you are using a product such as Termidor than the yearly renewal fees are low compared to your typical baiting system that must regularly be monitored. Not only is it less expensive but you own it and it provides years of protection where a bait system is only as good as long as your paying. Termite Bait Systems can cost you Thousands in a very short period of time. Traditional treatment gets to the source, the Termites fast and provides years of trouble free protection,
