Termite Activity High In Tulsa
It seems with this years up and down spring that more and more people are seeing Termite Swarms this season. Last year the weather was not nearly as up and down as this year. We are seeing warm weather than cold weather creating multiple or numerous Termite Swarms.
When the swarms only happen in your home once it may go unnoticed but it's hard to miss when it's happening on a regular basis.
Termites swarm when all conditions are just right. So, if we get three days of cold weather than all of a sudden 3 days of humid, warm weather conditions are optimum for Termites to swarm. Then if we get another 3-4 day burst of cold air the pattern can start all over again making it much more likely that the swarm will actually be seen by the homeowner.
Tulsa has been experiencing this crazy up and down weather and the results of this is more and more Termite swarms. Don't let termites ruin your biggest investment. If you see a swarm then you need a Termite Treatment. Controlling Termites is necessary and this is one thing that will not go away without treatment. We can help with that. If you live in Broken Arrow, Tulsa, Jenks, Bixby and the metro Tulsa area then you are in EnviroTech Exterminating's Service Area. Call (918) 282-7621 to schedule an appointment.
EnviroTech offers Termidor and Advance Baiting Systems to it's customers. Why a need for both options? The baiting systems may be necessary in situations where providing a perimeter termite treatment are not an option.
Termite Treatment Questions and Answers:
1) What would be a situation where a bait system may be necessary? Termite baiting allows termite control in situations where the structure is untreatable with soil termiticides, there is concern about pesticide use and/or in structures where soil treatments have failed.
2) Why would a soil treatment fail? In situations where the soil is filled with large amounts of rocky structure the product used to treat for Termites may not properly be able to bind to the soil or media.
3) Which is Better, Liquid or Bait? The answer here is depends on the situation, media, soil type. In most situations a liquid treatment provides quicker control of Termites. In some situations liquid treatment may not be an option. There is no absolute here and what's best for your property may not be the best for another. One thing to keep in mind is that where active termites are found most termite companies will want to do a liquid treatment or spot treatment of that area if you choose a bait system.
4) How does a Bait System work? Termite baiting works by killing off the workers in the termite colony as they forage for food. When the worker termites have been eliminated, the colony is starved of food and goes into "decline". The reproductives, queens and soldiers die of starvation because they cannot feed themselves. When the queens and reproductives cannot eat because there are no workers to feed them, they die and the termite colony starves and "crashes".
5) Which is more expensive, liquid or bait treatment? Liquid treatment is typically less expensive due to the higher cost of the baiting stations and active ingredient cost of the bait stations. Also keep in mind that bait stations must be monitored which requires regular inspection and costs more yearly to maintain. Liquid is done and usually only has a small yearly renewal fee for the warranty and Transfer of the warranty to any potential buyer if you sell the home.
6) What does a termite treatment typically cost? The liquid treatments are done on a linear foot basis. They start at $699 and can go up from there based on the linear footprint of the home. Bait stations are figured also on a footprint of the home and vary based on how many units are needed. They start at $999.
